Thomas K. Ritter, Owner/President of A.E. Stone, Inc., is an avid supporter of communities throughout Southern New Jersey. Ritter was raised in Moorestown, NJ and currently resides in Linwood, NJ. A member of the Mainland Regional High School Board, he plays an active role in the annual "Incredible Reading Rally" in local schools. Recently, Ritter formed the Mainland Regional Education Foundation in an effort to raise scholarship money to help defray rising college education costs for graduating Mainland Regional High School students. He is also a member of the Literacy Volunteers of Atlantic County and holds a seat on the board of the annual Shop Rite Ladies Professional Golf Association Tournament. Ritter is active in Shore Memorial Hospital's D. Allen Stretch Memorial Golf Tournament as well. Always civic-minded, A. E. Stone frequently pitches in to pave basketball courts and street hockey courts for local schools and community recreation associations at no cost.

During the summer of 2001, A. E. Stone graded and resurfaced the access roadways in Union Cemetary, which is one of the oldest cemeteries located in Atlantic County, Mays Landing, NJ. A. E. Stone supplied the machinery to grade the roads at no charge, and donated over 200 tons of recycled concrete for resurfacing the roadways. Eight A. E. Stone employees donated their time and efforts to perform the work.

When disaster strikes, A. E. Stone is there. In times of need, A. E. Stone regularly provides emergency infrastructure repair on damage caused by severe storms in the coastal areas. Several years ago, A. E. Stone assembled a group of business people to assist the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter threatened by building foreclosure. Because A. E. Stone is so deeply committed to improving and supporting local community efforts, the company generously contributes to more than twenty charity organizations and community events annually. In addition, A. E. Stone urges all employees to get involved in similar activities.

During peak months, A. E. Stone is one of Atlantic County's largest employers with approximately 70 full-time workers during the peak paving months in the summer. A dedicated year-round staff, including a full-time quality control technician, is the key to the company's success. Many employees, such as secretary and administrative assistant Helen Whitten, have served the company for more than twenty years.
