A. E. Stone recently purchased a new Caterpillar Paver AP-1055B equipped with the Mobil-Trac System (MTS). The MTS has the excellent traction and flotation benefits of a track suspension with a ride quality and mobility like that of a rubber tired paver. It is well suited to pave on any type of sub-base material from loose sandy soils to firm densely compacted sub-base material. This unit is propelled by a Cat 3116TA engine with 158 hp flywheel power and has a maximum paving speed of 200 ft/min. This model weighs 41,000 lb, with a hopper capacity of 215 cubic ft/short ton. The maximum and minimum paving widths are 10 ft and 8 ft, respectively. The AP-1055B is a very versatile paver that allows it to perform on heavy wide-width highway job one day and a confined paving job the next.
